Four staffers of Yemen Embassy booked for harassing girl

Four people attached to Embassy of Yemen have been booked for intimidating a 26-year-old girl on Monday.
The incident took place in the late evening near Connaught Place. The victim, who works at Hotel Imperial, was returning to her residence in south Delhi all by herself. Enroute auto stand, a car stopped near her and the people inside started passing lewd comments and making obscene gestures.
In her complaint she has mentioned that when she ignored them, they allegedly tried to pull her inside the car. When the girl raised an alarm, they managed to escape.
The victim immediately approached Connaught Place police station and lodged a complaint against them. Fortunately, the victim had noticed the number plate of the car. Soon after her complaint, the cops traced the car,’ said a police official.
K C Dwivedi, Additional Commissioner of police (New Delhi), said, ‘The car was traced within a few minutes of the complaint. The car belongs to Embassy of Yemen. We have arrested all four of them. Of the four, one is Yemeni, two are Libyans and one Algerian.’
A case has been registered at Connaught Place police station, he added.
