Four killed in Bengal accident

"Four passengers died on the spot when their car rammed into a stationary truck near Marishda at around 2.10 a.m.," a police officer said.

According to the officer, the car was going from Ramnagar in East Midnapore to Kolkata.

The driver seemed to have lost control of the vehicle. Low visibility due to fog could have caused the accident.

"The injured was initially admitted to Contai Hospital in East Midnapore. He has now been referred to SSKM hospital here," the official said.

"The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed. It is possible that all of them were residents of Ramnagar region as the car has a local number plate," he added.
