Four held for betting over IPL matches

Four persons were arrested from Ghaziabad and Faridabad for their alleged involvement in betting on IPL cricket matches, police said on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, the Naveen Nagar police of Faridabad yesterday raided the shop of one Sudhir alias Raju in Sector 15 market area and arrested him for running illegal betting on an IPL match between Deccan Chargers and Delhi Daredevils.
Two mobile phone handsets, LCD, Rs 46,000 cash and betting chits were recovered from his possession, they added.
Meanwhile, Ghaziabad police have arrested three traders from Kavi Nagar area for allegedly placing bets on an IPL match.
Rs 35,000 in cash and mobile phones were recovered from the three traders identified as Arun Kumar, Vaibhav Jain and Pappu Gupta. All three traders have been granted bail by the local court, SHO Kavi Nagar Sudhir Tyagi said.
