Four arrested with Rs 1-crore marijuana

The Delhi Police crime branch have arrested four persons for allegedly being involved in drug trafficking. The police said the four were arrested in two separate cases and around 543 kg of marijuana, worth Rs 1 crore in the international market, was recovered from their possession.

The arrested were identified as Daleep Kumar Yadav (35), Sanjay Kumar (32), Amrik Singh (50) and Ram Kumar (35), police said. In the first case, the police learnt that Yadav of Kathputli Colony, along with his associate Sanjay Kumar of Uttam Nagar, were involved in supplying marijuana to Delhi from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh by train. 

A trap was laid near the Pragati Maidan bus stand and the duo was caught with around 43-kg marijuana.

In the second case, police learnt that Amrik and his associate Ram were carrying a huge consignment of marijuana in a truck to Delhi. The police stopped their truck in Rohini and recovered around 500 kg of the contraband. The two have been arrested. 

The four have been booked under sections of the NDPS Act.
