Foul play suspected in servant’s death

On the instructions of Chhaya Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police [south Delhi], post mortem of a 15-year-old boy was carried out again. The boy was found dead in a bathroom of a residence in Lajpat Nagar on Saturday. The first post mortem report claimed that Rahul, the deceased, had committed suicide. But a family member alleged that he has been murdered.
Rahul used to work as a domestic help in a residence at Dayanand Colony in Lajpat Nagar area of South-East district. He was with this family for the last 10 days. The family that he worked for included a husband, wife and two girls.
‘The body of Rahul was naked and he was tied to the water pipes. Rahul, along with his nephew, stayed at their employer’s residence. The nephew told us that the four unidentified men were called by the lady owner, who killed Rahul and later locked him inside the bathroom,’ said one of the family members of Rahul.
However, the police officials denied the family’s allegation by saying that no injury marks were noticed on Rahul’s body. ‘The pre post mortem reports also proves that the cause of his death was suicide. No foul play in Rahul’s death was found,’ said a police official.
‘A mobile clipping showing his actual state after the murder is with the family of Rahul. On the basis of which, they went to Chhaya Sharma seeking justice. After watching it, Chhaya had asked the police officials to look into the matter again and do the post mortem again to find out the real reason behind Rahul’s death,’ said Sangeeta, a family member of Rahul.The post mortem report is awaited to confirm the cause of death.
