Goswami had alleged that some railway staff members at Balighat station harassed him when he went to the ticket counter for renewing his quarterly ticket. Despite giving his credentials, some staff members misbehaved with him.
Goswami said that when he showed his identity card a woman employee at the ticket counter told him that the card had been expired and hence she could not renew his ticket. Goswami tried to convince her that it was not so. She called up another employee who threateningly told Goswami that he was taking some advantage by using his former post. They also asked Goswami to leave the place.
Following the intervention of some senior official whom Goswami had called up the ticket was issued to him. Following the incident Goswami had lodged complaints with various senior railway officials.
Senior officials of the Eastern Railways said that the matter will been looked into with utmost seriousness. Action will be taken against those who will be found guilty.
