For better Indo-Pak relations

“It is the third season that we are heading to. I am glad that with this highly successful initiative we are experiencing a great cultural exchange between the two countries and we are helping each other in improving the relationships by showing talent and ideas at a common platform. We further aim to promote cordial ties between both countries in order to open gateways for trade in future”, said Huma Nassr.

Even though India and Pakistan share a common history was it difficult for you to make a path of attraction?
We have to face many difficulties to make a new friend. So, yes it was difficult for me. Through media I would like to request the government to make Visa system easier for us.

You already have organized two seasons of ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore’, from where have you received more positive response New Delhi or Lahore?
I received positive response from both the cities. When we went to Lahore they were very excited to welcome the Indians. When we come to India, people curiously wait for us. India being a bigger country provides a good footfall. If chikankari is famous in India, lawn (form of embroidery) is famous in Pakistan. One could never compare these two countries.

Do you think this event can bring the countries closer and help to change the mindset of people?
Definitely, if I come to your home for a visit and you will also pay a visit to my home, so it will definitely make a bond. I am sure the relation will improve between the two countries.

I am glad to launch the third season. Now people recognize me. They also want to participate in this event. It is not like a common fashion show. I want Indian designers to support us. We are here to make a bond. In this way Indian designers will use Pakistani products and Pakistan will use Indian products.

Would you host such events outside the subcontinent?
Yes, this event is not about India and Pakistan. It is not always ‘Kya Dilli Kya Lahore’ it can also be ‘Kya Karachi Kya Mumbai’, we will take this event in every country and will explore different things related to India-Pakistan.

What would be your message to the youngsters?
These events are appreciated by the youth. I would like to say that the youngsters make these events happen. We are bringing music and fashion and the youth enjoy it. They are the only people who can bring change.

Shaan-e-Pakistan season 1 and 2 brought Pakistani and Indian designers, retail brands, models, music and lifestyle personalities on one stage but this season will go beyond fashion and music to include art, theatre, literature and food.
