Fliers at Calcutta airport had a tough time on Saturday morning as around five international flights were suspended due to dense fog and low visibility. Four Kolkata bound flights which were flying from different parts of the country diverted to Bhubaneswar due to low visibility in the Calcutta Airport.

Airport authorities said that flight services were affected due to dense fog at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. Many flights which were supposed to take off in the morning got delayed due to bad weather. Many flights were rescheduled. The flight services started to resume from the airport after 9 am.

Train services were also disrupted in various sections of Howrah and Sealdah division this morning. Passengers were seriously inconvenienced as the trains were delayed. Commuters were stranded in various railway stations. Even the trains which were running late were overcrowded.

Meanwhile a major accident was averted after a crack developed in the railway track between Champahati and Kalikapur stations in the Sealdah South section. The local people saw the crack and stopped Hasnabad bound local train coming from Champahati.
