Five killed in two road accidents

Five persons including four from a same family were killed in two separate road accidents in Malda early this morning. Police said that four members of a family who were standing by the side of a pond near the NH34 to see the catching of fishes when a Raiganj bound truck from Malda lost its control and overturned on them. 

Three died at the spot while another was declared brought dead after being taken to Malda Medical College. The victims were identified as Bishnu Das (45), Smriti Das (10), Prem Das (11) and Sneha (8).

In a separate incident in Sitkamahal area of Gajol in Malda  a driver of a truck carrying buffaloes died after the vehicle collided head on with another truck on NH34.
