Five detained in Malda triple murder

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have detained five persons in connection with the murder of a businessman, his spouse and their domestic help in Malda which took place on Friday.

The investigating officers claimed that they would soon crack the case and will arrest the culprits who were involved in the triple murder.

In the course of investigation, the officers were tight-lipped and unwilling to divulge any information that could compromise the case. They suspect that the assailants might be former employees of the
businessman who might have committed the crime due to a past rivalry.

The investigating officers gathered evidence suggesting that it was a planned murder and not an attempt of dacoity. They were interrogating some of the employees of the victim.

The people who have been detained by the police were close associates of the slain businessman Ramratan Agarwal (60).

Agarwal, his wife Manju and their domestic help Ganesh (34) were stabbed to death inside their house at Vivekanandapalli in Malda Town in the early hours of Friday. The incident created tension in the area.
