Five bombs explode in Cairo; one killed, six injured

At least one person was killed and six others injured when five bombs hit a police station and two other places here while Egyptian police defused two bombs planted near the presidential palace.

A bomb exploded outside a police station in Waraq district in Giza, injuring six including four policemen.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health said in a statement that a person was killed in another bomb explosion that took place outside a restaurant in the residential district of Imbaba.

Three bombs also went off near?two main avenues of?mobile network providers Vodafone and Etisalat in Mohandiseen district. The explosions smashed the shops’ glass.

Two other bombs, planted near the presidential palace in Hadayek el-Koba district, were defused.
Egypt has witnessed many attacks targeting police and military personnel as well as civilians in the recent period.

The attacks have increased after the ouster of Islamist ex-president Mohamed Morsi in 2013. Over 500 policemen and soldiers, have been killed in the attacks.
