Fire breaks out at plastic godown in Garden Reach

A major fire broke out at a plastic godown in Southern fringes of Kolkata — Garden Reach area on Tuesday morning. Six fire tenders were rushed to the spot. While the fire has been brought under control, officials of the Fire and Emergency Services Department said that the fire may still be there in some places. Police said that the fire broke out around 8 am. Locals spotted smoke billowing out of the windows of the godown and informed the fire station. The CESC officials also rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation. Police also said that a liquid petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder stockyard was there just beside the spot.
