Finally, BJP leader LK Advani decides to meet Yashwant Sinha in Hazaribagh jail

On 3 June, the former finance minister was arrested for leading a demonstration against power cuts in Hazaribagh when a group of BJP workers tied up the state power board’s general manager, DN Jha, to his chair in his office. Later, the policemen intervened to rescue the official and detained Sinha along with 50 others demonstrators.

Sinha represented the Hazaribagh constituency in Parliament but this time he made a way for his son Jayant who won from the same constituency in the 16th Lok Sabha.
Sources said, during the agitation Sinha had injured himself after the chair on which he was sitting broke.

Earlier, Sinha had refused to pay the bail needed for his release and on Monday once again he refused to furnish bail. The charges against him include assaulting a government servant and obstructing his work. The case will next be heard on 28 June.

During court hearing, Sinha has admitted that it was on his orders that his supporters had tied up the electricity board official.
