Films are backed BY fans NOT reviews: Kareena

Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan says that her recently released film Ki & Ka might have not received rave reviews from some critics, but her fans and movie-goers have liked the film. She is happy and content with that because she feels that the views of the “aam janta” (common man) are of utmost importance.

When was asked about how Ki &Ka has contributed to her career.

She said: “Well, I think a lot. A lot of the reviews didn’t back the film, but audiences backed the film and I think that’s most important. Actors should realise that the films are backed by your fans, the ‘aam janta’, and that’s more important,” she added. 

Asked how much care she takes for looking good in real life, she said: “I believe that fashion is more in comfort and if you are comfortable, then you will automatically look good. I feel I am always well-dressed.” So is she ready to experiment with her looks in films?

“I am open in the sense that when I am doing fashion blogs, commercial films and other things... But for films, you have to stick to the character. You can’t just experiment just for the sake of it. You have to do different styles or do strange things to your hair and make-up just because you want to experiment. It has to stick to the character.”

But what if the role demands it? “I am not going to shave my head if that’s the level of the experimentation,” she said. 

Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the stylish divas of Indian film industry and the Bollywood actor says looks are as important as choosing a good role.

The 34-year-old Ki & Ka star said carrying a glamorous image comes naturally to her. “I like to be glamorous. That is what I am known for. It is a very important part of me. People like to see me in glamorous way and I love being that. For me looking good is as important as signing a good film,” said Kareena. However, the actor doesn’t like the way being glamorous is perceived at large. “I feel glamorous is generally considered not graceful.

And I don’t like it that way. I think it’s very graceful and elegant. Whenever you see me I am always elegantly dressed.”  Kareena feels for a woman, it is very important to be dressed properly and be graceful. “For me the most important thing is to be graceful. Grace is something which should come to a woman organically. It comes from within. Rather than looking sexy, a woman should work on her grace,” she said.

The actor is the face of a make up brand and loves dressing up for red carpets, but when it comes to her personal life, she prefers to ditch the dose of it.

“I am an actor for me doing make up is a every day thing. I personally love wearing kajal and bright lip colours.
