Organized by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH), the Expo has been put up as a response to the industry demand and International trend of organizing sector specific shows enabling better focus on specific requirements of buyers and is well recognised by International visitors who can easily spot what they are looking for instead of getting lost in a myriad of products.

The show opened at world class state-of-the art India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida."The fair which will be held from April 18 to 20 is a must visit as it is one of the leading business-to-business shows where a wide range of tableware, home textiles, kitchenware, homeware and bathroom accessories are displayed by Indian exporters engaged in manufacturing and exporting of these products", informed Rakesh Kumar, Executive Director, EPCH.

The major markets for exports for these products are USA, Canada, countries in European Union like France, Italy, UK, Netherlands etc. in addition to UAE, Japan and Switzerland.
Udit Saran Agarwal, President, Home Expo India2017 informed that about 500 companies in permanent marts are exhibiting their collection of furnishing, flooring, textiles, furniture and houseware and decorative categories under one roof.

The key feature of Home Expo India is the participation of a large number of top buyers, buying houses, import houses, chain stores, boutique owners and interior decorators from leading markets like USA, European Union, Far East and African continents to visit and source at this show including domestic retail volume buyers.

EPCH is a nodal agency for promotion, development and increase of exports of handicrafts from the country and create brand image of Home, lifestyle, fashion. The emphasis laid by the Council has popularised this show as a "Home Total tag" show amongst the International buying community and made it a benchmark event for household items.

The council has thrown light upon specialties of select regions of India at this show. In this direction, separate arenas for products from North Eastern Region (NER) and themes of products made bycrafts persons from central, northern region and Uttranchal have been set up. Cane and Bamboo products from North east and glass decorative, brass craft, home decor, candle stands have been displayed by craft persons from central region.

"The Handicrafts exports during the year 2016-17 were Rs. 24530.25 crores with overall 13.79% increase in comparison to last year. This year it is expected to generate huge business inquiries," said the Executive Director, EPCH.
