To the Unsung women in Buddha's life

Dr Sonal Mansingh and Kamakhya Kalapeeth, Centre for Indian Classical Dances, are organising a dance event 'Appa Deepo Bhava – Be a Light Unto Yourself' on November 11, 7 pm onwards, at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. The event is supported by Ministry of Culture.

'Be a Light Unto Yourself' are supposed to be the last utterance of Buddha before attaining Nirvana.

The performances at the event offer a hitherto unrecognised aspect of Buddha's life by highlighting role of the four women whose presence proved to be significant at different moments in Siddharth Gautam's journey to enlightenment. In the journey from Siddharth to Gautam Buddha, these women appear like stars in spiritual galaxy.
