Theatre enthusiasts get a platform

Angels Vision Society is an organisation of like-minded people who have congregated with a vision to promote culture, preserve bio diversity and contribute towards education for the underprivileged.

This time, the organisation has collaborated with the Press Club of India to organise their yearly event – 'Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay Bilingual Short Play Competition'. Millennium Post will be their 'Media Partner' for the same.

It's the 5th consecutive year of the immensely appreciated and successful event, and will be organised from November 20 – 25, at Bipin Chandra Pal Auditorium, Chittaranjan Park, New Delhi.

The society made a humble beginning by organising this play competitions in the year 2015', which witnessed appreciable participation from various theatre groups and attracted a large group of theatre enthusiasts.

Going forward in the direction, the society intends to keep organising such festivals across different cities in the country and involve other Performing art forms as well in near future.

In the coming years, they also intend to actively participate in areas of bio diversity, sports and education as well.

This event will witness the participation of Bengali and Hindi Drama Groups of Delhi, NCR and adjoining areas in the memory of Late Ashutosh Mukhapadhyay (1920-1989), one of the most prominent writers of Bengali Literature.

A total of thirteen plays in competition and two plays in non-competition category have been selected.

During the event, three plays will be performed every day on November 21, 22, 23, and two plays on November 24 respectively.

The event will close with a prize distribution ceremony on November 24 and there will be a special show presented by a renowned group from Kolkata.

The event is supported by People's Theatre Group, Bipin Chandra Pal Memorial Trust, Ashim Ruchi Caterer and A D Print Studio, and should not be missed by Delhi theatre lovers.
