What'sup!, the only multi-tier café and a popular hangout zone for the upwardly mobile young adults of Kolkata, which is famous for serving the choicest of Continental, Mediterranean and Oriental cuisine with an exotic array of cocktails, recently had ace musicians to perform live under the starry Kolkata skyline. Bonnie Chakraborty performed 'Songs of the Badmen', featuring ace musicians Usri Banerjee, Ratul Ray, Gaboo Chatterjee, Sudipto Paul and Bumpy Nag Chowdhury.
What'sup! is famous for their live musical performances presented by an eclectic mix of popular as well as new singers and musicians throughout the week under the banner #WhatsUpLive.
"We have been promoting live music for over a year now with live gigs happening every day of the week, where both young and established bands across genres perform in front of our guests. We are glad to present the biggest names in the Kolkata band circuit together under the same roof. We managed to enthrall our patrons with a unique musical experience which combined new age world music as well as yesteryear's chartbusters", said Anirban, Sengupta, Partner, What'sup!
"Our journey comprised songs which revolutionized the Kolkata music scene forever. We would like to call our brand of music 'World Progressive Chutney In Redux' because there are far too many genres weaving rhythms and melodies inside one another to create a unique soundscape", said singer, Bonnie Chakraborty.
The star-studded line-up performed some of their biggest hits including Bonnie Chakraborty and Usri Banerjee's numbers from MTV Coke Studio, songs of Moheener Ghoraguli and other Bollywood numbers. Ace of Bass Mainak Bumpy Nag Chowdhury with his Maitrei Custom Bass, the biggest groove buster Gaboo on drums, the super talented Sudipto Paul on keys, the coolest guitar player in town Ritaprabha Ratul Ray and Bonnie Chakraborty and Usri Banerjee on vocals ensured that the musical evening was a good one with the Songs Of Badmen. What'sup! is one-in-all café providing a retro lounge, a contemporary and open air terrace giving a spectacular view of Kolkata.
