Paryatan Parv concludes after a 21-day long celebration

Three week long 'ParyatanParv', a nation-wide celebration of Tourism concluded on October 25 in the Capital. The event was organized by Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with other Central Ministries, State Governments and Stakeholders.
Addressing a press conference on the conclusion of 'Paryatan Parv', Rashmi Verma, Secretary Ministry of Tourism said that the Parv was organized with the objective of drawing focus on the benefits of tourism, showcasing the cultural diversity of the country and reinforcing the principle of "Tourism for All". Rashmi further informed that more than five Lakh people from the whole country participated in this event.
This year, 'Paryatan Parv' majorly focused on three components: 'Dekho Apna Desh' to encourage Indians to visit their own country, 'Tourism for all' and 'Tourism and Governance'.
Several activities like photograph and blog competitions of sites visited during the event, stories of India through travelers' eyes, tourism related quiz, essay, debate and painting competitions for students were organized throughout the event. Also, various interactive sessions and workshops with stakeholders on varied themes were organized.
Thanking the central ministries for their support, Rashmi said , "The event would not have been possible without the support of Central Ministries. They have proactively come forward and became partner of the event by organising various activities."
Ministry of Rural Development, Culture, Human Resource Development, Environment and Forest, Information and Broadcasting etc. contributed to make the event successful.
