Garlic is an easily available home product, which can be used as a remedy for treating poor appetite as it permits the digestive system to function properly. Boil 3 to 4 garlic cloves in a cup of water. Now strain enough solution and mix lemon juice into it and drink the mixture twice daily.

Cardamom seeds or cardamom pods mixed in your regular tea is also very functional. It increases hunger by promoting secretion of digestive juices.

Consuming ginger can also be a premium choice as it not only improves appetite, but combats indigestion and cures many stomach related ailments as well. Cut a small piece of ginger into fine slices, add a pinch of rock salt and intake it half an hour prior to your meals.You may also go for ginger tea. An addition of sugar and milk would not do any harm.

The benefits of carom seeds or 'ajwain' for improving appetite should also be put into consideration. Directly chew one half teaspoon of carom seeds right after or before your meal. You can also make a mixture of 3 teaspoonful of carom seeds and lemon juice. Store it in a cool, dry and dark place and let it dry for a few minutes. Then mix a pinch of black salt and add a small amount of warm water and drink the liquid.
