Over 3000 Indian exhibitors to participate in IHGF Delhi Fair

The 45th edition of IHGF-Delhi Fair, one of the world's largest handicrafts fair, will be opened to overseas buyers as well as domestic volume retail buyers from February 23, at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida.
As informed by Rakesh Kumar, ED-EPCH, the five days extravaganza will showcase the home, lifestyle, fashion, and textiles products by more than 3000 Indian handicraft exporters from all across the country.
This edition of the fair will have a comprehensive selection of over 2000 products and more than 300 trend specific design development across 14 product categories, such as houseware, home furnishing, furniture, gifts and decoratives, lamps and lighting, Christmas and festive décor, fashion jewellery and accessories, spa and wellness, carpets and rugs and leather bags. The exhibition is spread over 1,90,000 sq. mt.
The overseas buyers from over 103 countries including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel, Japan, Korea, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, UAE, UK and Zimbabwe and many more will be visiting the show.
Buyers from companies/ departmental stores who have already confirmed their visit to the show includes Apropos International Inc., Anthropologie, Four Hands LLC, Brylane Home, Earthbound Trading, Cost Plus World Market, Imax Corpn, Kalalou, Roost, House Doctor and Bloomingville, Denmark, Lifestyle and Redtag from UAE, and many more.
The show will also have visitors from major Indian retail/online brands like Amazon, Furniture Walla, Pepperfry, Urban Ladder, Good Earth etc.
"Buyers from across the globe have always been interested to visit the IHGF-Delhi fair because of the exquisite product range, attractive prices, different varieties, distinct quality and new product lines," said Kumar.
Knowledge seminars will be on different and important subjects like 'cultural differences between the East and West and how they impact business; how to export to China with specific reference to Gifts, decoratives and houseware; symposium on positioning of J&K handicrafts in domestic and overseas markets; goods and service tax; intellectual property rights; verification of certified forest products and trends and forecast – spring summer 2019.
Fashion shows will also be other key attractions during the five - day - show.
O P Prahladka, Chairman – EPCH informed that in order to give wide publicity to the show, Council has undertaken extensive promotion and publicity campaign all across the globe through advertisements in International magazines, online portals, outdoor media and road shows at various International shows. Further, Journalists from renowned International magazines have also been invited to see a wide range of products on display and to give coverage in their respective magazines.
The Handicrafts exports during the year 2016-17 were Rs 24,392.39 crores with overall 13.15% increase in comparison to last year. However, the exports of handicrafts during 10 months of the current financial year 2017-18 is Rs 19862.19 crore.
