Musical evening to felicitate Bollywood legends

PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently organised a soulful musical evening "Gata Rahe Mera Dil" at the Siri Fort Auditorium with Bollywood Industry's legendary and iconic singers coming together under one roof to pay tribute to the country's one of the finest veteran actor Sharmila Tagore.
PHD Chamber conferred Lifetime Achievement Award to well-known Bollywood celebrity Sharmila Tagore and Special Award was conferred to filmmaker Muzaffar Ali for his outstanding contribution to promote and propagate arts, fine arts and literature.
The chamber also gave awards to Bollywood musical stalwarts Usha Mangeshkar, Prem Bhatia, Kavita Seth, Ankit Tiwari, Rahul Vaidya, Akriti Kakar, Manmeet (Meet Brothers) and actor Sukhmani Lamba.
Lifetime Achievement Award to veteran actor Sharmila Tagore was given away by Dr Jatinder Singh, Union Minister, Manoj Tiwari, MP and President Delhi BJP along with PHD Chamber's President Gopal Jiwarajka, Senior Vice President Anil Khaitan and Vice President Rajeev Talwar. Chairman, Mukesh Gupta, Rakesh Gupta, Co-Chairman Arshad Shawl, Priya Hingorani and PHD Chamber's Secretary General, Saurabh Sanyal were also present.
The evening started with a pulsating musical performance by Prem Bhatia on few timeless classics "Akele Akele Kahan Ja Rhe ho" and "Pookarta Chala Hun Me". After receiving the felicitation award, Usha Mangeshkar sang a devotional song "Jai Santoshi Mata" and actor Sukhmani Lamba did an astonishing dance performance to make the audience roar. Current musical sensation Ankit Tiwari stole the heart of the audience when he crooned to his popular songs "Galiyan" and "Sun Raha Hai Na Tu" which were enough to make the audience asking for more.
Akriti Kakkar made audience dance when she rendered her performance on her famous song "Saturday Saturday" and Indian Idol fame Rahul Vaidya gave a soulful performance on "Mere Rashke Qamar".
MP and President Delhi BJP Manoj Tiwari sang a few lines of hit bhojpuri number "Lagawe jab tu Lipstick". Kavita Seth, and Manmeet Singh (Meet Brothers) were among others who made the evening worth remembering.
