Microsoft makes highest placement offer at SRM
Seems like SRM Institute of Science and Technology placement cell is in a competition with itself. The college, by beating its last year's impressive count of 3020 offers – from the big four IT companies (TCS, Cognizant, Infosys, Wipro) – made a record of 4749 offers for 2020 students of the Institute this placement season.
More than 600 companies have already visited the campus since the commencement of the placement season on July 22, and over 6514+ offers have been made. Many more companies are expected to come as the placement season will continue till April/May 2020.
This year, the highest offer made on the campus, was 41.6 lakhs per annum by Microsoft. Other top recruiters this year include Amazon (18 offers of 32 lakhs per annum), Barclays (25 offers of 10 lakhs per annum) and startup Udaan (4 offers of 30 lakhs per annum). Organizations like Veritas and Pay Pal have made internship linked placement offers.
At the conclusion of 'Day One' processes, TCS made 1437 offers ('Ninja Track'), Infosys 1315, Cognizant 1175, and Wipro 822. Apart from this, TCS has made 183 offers under 'Digital Track' (7 lakhs per annum), said Sriram SPadmanabhan, Director, Career Centre at SRMIST. This is the highest number of offers made by these four companies in any single campus in the country, he said.
The centralised placement process organised at Kattankulathur campus, brings students from SRM Campuses including Modinagar, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, said Padmanabhan.
About 1210+ students have been made Super Dream (Rs.10 L Pa+) and Dream offer (Rs.5 L Pa+) so far. Students are also recruited by companies from the Core Engineering sector.
Padmanabhan said that top companies are drawn to the SRM Campus due to the cosmopolitan composition of the students. "We arrange mock interviews and impart advanced computing skills to students as they prepare for the placement season,"
