Manish Sisodia welcomes Russian delegation for 'Days of Moscow'

Commencing the much awaited event 'Days of Moscow in Delhi', the first day of celebrations between Russian capital Moscow and Delhi began with a lecture by Russian Cosmonaut, Sergey Revin(of ROSCOSMOS) that gave participating students a first-hand experience of space travel along-side a detailed photo exhibition on Space Exploration at IIIT-Delhi, Okhla Ind. Estate. The day brought forward multifaceted cultural and social offerings from Moscow, as many gathered for lectures, and cultural performances.

The lecture was followed by a simultaneous chess game session wherein Moscow Champion and Chess Grandmaster, Ivan Popov participated in a friendly set of matches with young chess players from Delhi Govt schools, making it a one of kind experience.

The first day also witnessed young dance enthusiasts learning from the State Academic Choreographic ensemble 'Berezka' at the Russian Centre for Science and Culture. For an auspicious start to a splendid evening, the lighting of the lamp ceremony took place in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia; N R Kudasheva; Ambassador of Russia to India and SE Cheremin, Moscow City Govt Minister, Head of Department for External Economic and International Relations; Chairman Business Council for Cooperation with India.

The evening at Siri Fort also witnessed the stellar vocal group, Kvatro, performing melodic and upbeat songs. A vivid photo exhibition on Moscow's culture decked the foyer at Siri Fort.

Delhi Tourism in association with Governemnt of Moscow is celebrating 'Days of Moscow in Delhi' featuring a variety of activities including Art & Culture, Heritage, Sports and other areas of mutual co-operation, as part of the Twin city agreement for Tourism & Education between the Governement of NCT of Delhi and Government of City of Moscow, being held from 18-19 November 2019.

The second day will witness an elaborate Business Conference that will focus on issues of cultural, humanitarian, economic and investment cooperation between the two countries and cities, support for investors, small and medium businesses, elimination of trade barriers, besides other cultural programmes.
