Maestros come together for cultural extravaganza

The 17th edition of 'Lalit Arpan Festival' of Asavari, which has been jointly conceptualised by Kathak maestro, Padmashri Shovana Narayan, Dr Jyotsna Suri and renowned tabla players late Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan, will conclude on September 28 at the Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre.

Organised by the dance institution Asavari and its volunteers, this festival has till date presented over 90 torch bearers of Indian classical performing arts.

The event is offering a feast of performances by national and international artists like Mrinalini, Shallu Jindal, Ragini Madan, Kristina Dolonina, Lakshay Mohan and Aayush Mohan. Founded by the Shovana Narayan, Padmashri, this institute grew under the guiding force of her mother late Lalita Narayan and received equal support from Ranjana Narayan, Tirath Ajmani, Tabla maestro late Ustad Shafaat Ahmed Khan and many more.

Today, the institute trains about a hundred children and also runs a repertory that has performed widely in India and abroad.
