Governor of West Bengal Jagdeep Dhankhar along with his wife Mrs Sudesh Dhankhar, Noted industrialist Mahendra Kumar Jalan and his wife Mrs Shashi Prabha Jalan during a meet at Raj Bhavan, Kolkata.

Mahendra Jalan is the Chairman Emeritus of the Keventer Group and is a man of vision and foresight. A graduate form St Xavier's College, Kolkata and an alumni member of Harvard Business School, he has business interest in dairy, food processing, real estate, port, steel and other industrial sectors. He is the director of Keventer Agro Ltd and is a board member of various companies like Keventer Projects Ltd and Edward Keventer Pvt Ltd, Edward Food Research and Analysis Centre Ltd and many more.

Formerly he was the French Honorary Consul General, Kolkata and received an award – Ordre national du Mérite – by the French government for his excellent works.
