Heartfelt tribute to a legend

Angels Vision Society in New Delhi encompasses various spheres which include promotion of culture, preservation of bio diversity and contribution towards education for the underprivileged. The society in its fifth year, along with Salkia Natyanab, recently organised pre-birth centenary celebration of Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay. In his memory, a drama festival was organised at Jogesh Mime Academy, in the city of joy, where one witnessed plays like, 'Nei Ami Nei Ami', 'Bhooter Ghore Bhootnath', 'Shamaantaraal', 'Chaarbaak Shutro', 'Kaalpurush', 'Duto Din'.

The event was inaugurated by eminent Director Raja Sen, followed by a mesmerising performance by Sagnik Sen and Anubha Sen.

Late Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay, was one of the most cinematised authors of Bengali literature. His novels have been translated to other Indian languages, and transformed into cinematic grandeur.

"I have been associated with Angels Vision for years now, and it's a great honour to be present at my late father's pre-birth centenary celebration. This is the first time they have organised it in Kolkata, so it has to be special. I hope Kolkata would embrace this festival with open arms," said Sarbani Mukhopadhyay, daughter of Late Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay.
