After season one of AltBalaji's 'Apaharan' receiving accolades for its great story line, makers of the web series are coming up with an extra dose of suspense and thrill. Actor Arunoday Singh, who made his debut in web space with 'Apaharan', reveals some details about the new season while talking to Millennium Post.
How did you come on board for the project?
Siddharth Sen Gupta (director and creator of the show) called me for narration, and I immediately said yes to him because the script was very convincing and intriguing. The character I play in the show is something that I wanted to do for a long time. And, I feel very fortunate that I got an opportunity to work in the second season as well.
Is this going to be the sequel of 'Apaharan' season one?
Yes, it is the sequel of 'Apaharan'. It does follow the characters' story from the first season, but surely has lots of new elements and an extra dose of twist and turns.
Has your role in the second season changed?
No, the character which I played will remain the same. My character is of Rudra Srivastav – a police officer who specialises in kidnapping cases. So, I will reprise the role and will be seen working on different cases. It's worth waiting for.
What were your initial expectations from the first season of the series? Has the responses been any different?
(Laughs) I don't keep any kind of expectations from the projects I do. As an artist, I like to keep the bar high for myself.
Being an actor on-screen, I always try to give my best and I leave the rest to audience and God.
Speaking about this show specifically, I am extremely proud to be associated with an interesting project like this. The show has received a positive response from the viewers so far, and it obviously feels good to hear nice things from people about your work.
When can we expect season two?
The shooting for the season two has not gone on floors yet, but the date will be announced very soon as the scripting and casting for the show is finalised.
Who else will be sharing screen space with you in the new season?
Nidhi Singh and few other actors from the earlier season will be joining Season 2.
Also, as the story grows further, few new characters will also be seen in our story, which can't be revealed at this moment.
