FDDI signs MoU with University of Northampton

The MoU was signed by Professor Nick Petford, Vice Chancellor of University of Northampton and Arun Kumar Sinha, IAS, Managing Director FDDI, on February 7 at FDDI- Noida campus.

FDDI and the University of Northampton are among few institutions in the world providing higher education in the niche area of footwear and leather products design, manufacturing and management.

In order to ensure international standards of education at FDDI, and bring in global trends and technology in the sector, institute has entered into collaboration with University of Northampton which is one of the few universities to be ranked gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF) and also the first university to be named as a 'Changemaker Campus' in 2012 in UK.

Professor Nick Petford visited FDDI to strengthen the possibilities of mutual cooperation and support in Education and Research.

Professor Nick Petford said, "The University of Northampton has prolonged expertise in the education of Leather and Product Design and Manufacturing. Through this collaboration, we intend to take up education in this niche area to the next level. The academic alliance and partnership with FDDI will create new avenues for the students and faculty in both the countries to explore the new horizon of learning, research and product innovation in the cross-cultural environment."

Briefing the details, Arun Kumar Sinha, Managing Director, FDDI said, "FDDI is on its way to a major infrastructural and capacity augmentation under the Centre of Excellence Program of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India. Under this program, the FDDI is being empowered by the Ministry to bring up world-class infrastructure and the skills second to none. We look forward to a mutually beneficial and enriching engagement with Northampton University."
