Familiarising Delhiites with art of 'Batik'

ASEAN Ladies Circle(ALC) at the High Commission of Malaysia organised a one-day workshop to showcase the art of Malaysian Batik painting on October 12 with support of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia. The event was organised as a part of ALC member annual program to promote their art and culture amongst the member countries.

Apart from witnessing the technique and style of Malaysian batik painting by their counterpart from the Malaysia, guests attending the event were also given the opportunity to experience the technique themselves. Materials for the Batik painting demonstration were specially flown in from Malaysia courtesy of Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation. Towards the end of the event, Malaysian cuisines specially prepared by the Malaysian ALC members were served to the guests.
