Empowering orphan girl child to learn and lead

Shyam Sundar Co Jewellers, as an extension to 'Kanyashree' initiative, has taken the onus to help orphaned and bereft girl child for their education, health, and financial upliftment. 'Durga and Friends' - the orphan and single parent girls staying at Chitrangada orphanage celebrated their fifth year of success at Rabindra Sadan. Rupak Saha, Director, Shyam Sundar Co. Jeweller along with the friends of 'Durga' graced the occasion with their presence.

The cultural evening witnessed a performance 'Durga' celebrating the onset of Durga Puja and showcases the power of love and care. The noble initiative was undertaken just before the arrival of Durga, the Goddess of power and strength. A special recitation titled 'Kashphuler Swapnopath' was also performed by Mounita to celebrate all the poetry about the festive season.

We are extremely happy to help these young girls who might be less privileged but are full of potential. Personally, I feel there is a Durga in every girl child. Hence, we believe this is the best possible way to serve the society by helping and empowering these embodiments of Maa Durga."
