Eminent Spanish artist Cesar holds an exhibition in India

Recently, an exhibition by eminent Spanish artist Cesar Taboada Varela at Birla Academy of Art and Culture was inaugurated.

Cesar has a special bonding with India, especially Bengal. In his multiple visits to India, he has been to places like Kolkata, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Shantiniketan to learn more about Indian art and culture.

On his solo exhibition in Calcutta, he said, "This is the city of Tagore and Ray. This place has always fascinated me. I have always believed that Tagore was the Leonardo da Vinci of 20th century. That's why I spent 4 months in Shantiniketan to learn more about Tagore. I feel humbled to hold this exhibition in Calcutta."

In this leg of his visit, Cesar comes to Calcutta straight from New York after holding an exhibition at Miguel and Angel Restoration Gallery and Art Studio, New York.

Before the New York exhibition, he held solo exhibitions in cities like Paris, Burdeos, Barcelona, Berlin, St Petersburg, Roma, Venice, Tokyo, Sarja,

Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Peru and Quebec. Cesar, like Salvador Dali, loves to experiment with his art. His style of painting is a mix of contemporary expressionism art.

Cesar has been teaching art in Escola de Arte e Superior de Deseno de Ourense (EASD), Spain. At present, he is the Director of Escola de Arte e Superior de Deseno de Ourense (EASD), Spain, which has over 4000 students and is regarded as one of the premier art schools of Spain. Students from across the world enroll in this school to learn fine arts, photography, architecture etc.
