Dr Samanta gets FICCI 'Personality of the Year' award

Educationist and social activist Dr Achyuta Samanta was conferred with 'Personality of the Year Award' by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI).

The award was presented during 15th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2019 held in New Delhi on November 27, 2019. It was a recognition of his lifetime contribution in the field of education and his passion and commitment to bring further excellence in the sector.

Earlier, Dr Samanta joined as a speaker at the 15th FICCI Higher Education Summit 2019 and spoke on the role of education in social development.

The selection of award has been done by a high level Jury panel, Chaired by Dr R A Mashelkar (Indian National Research Professors and Chancellor, Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research) and co-chaired by Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education.

In the 21st century, education is the core for economic development of any country. As an apex chamber, FICCI feels the necessity to recognise and celebrate achievements of the unsung leaders in this sector.

Keeping this in mind, Chamber has instituted the 'FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards' to felicitate achievements of institutions and individuals for improving the quality of higher education in India, and for driving themselves and the sector towards increased employability, delivery of quality education,

visionary thinking, use of technology and partnerships in improving higher education system.
