Dr Uma Sharma, Padma Bhushan Kathak artist will strike chords with the hearts of connoisseurs and lay persons alike. On occasion such as this, the dancer has decided to relive Ghalib through interpretation of his poetry

Uma Sharma's dance will seek to interpret the traumas of Ghalib as he goes through various stages of feeling in his life.

The first is Ghalib as a romantic, the second as jealous lover, the third as a man of infinite sadness, the fourth in a state of nostalgic remembrance of all that life held and the despair it brought.

Finally, Uma will bring this beautiful dance composition to an end by portraying the finality with which Ghalib interprets the last flicker of flame..... as he said : Ik Shamma Reh Gayee Hai So Woh Bhi Khamosh Hai.
