Bengal's first web sitcom to start streaming this weekend

World's largest digital platform exclusively for Bengali content, hoichoi, recently announced the launch of Bengal's first web sitcom, a comic take on Kolkata underworld- 'Gariahat-er Ganglords' which will start streaming on the platform, January 13 onwards.
The announcement of the 10th hoichoi Originals was held at a unique setting, under the Gariahat flyover on Wednesday. It provided an apt backdrop for the crime-comic sitcom, with a skit involving thugs and police playing full throttle.
With a slightly dark tone that mirrors the happenings in the underworld, Gariahat-er Ganglords, directed by Atreyee Sen and produced by SVF Entertainment, is a comedy-of-errors revolving around a young wannabe gang-lord called Jonny and his blind-and-partly-deaf partner, Bunty. Chaos starts with the arrival of Jonny's young cousin Buchku from Malda, West Bengal. It is an epochal event that will change their lives for the better or worse, depending on how you look at it. Buchku moves in with the gangster duo, filling their lives with a blend of his naivety, stupidity and wildness. As the comic gangsters live together, it leads to a series of unlucky yet hilarious incidents.
While Saurav Das and Ayan Bhattacharjee play Jonny and Bunty respectively, Debmalya Gupta plays Buchku. Hoichoi has recently released a song from Gariahat-er Ganglords, featuring Kanchan Mullick called 'Gorom Gorilla'.
