An evening with Sake

To raise awareness of Japanese food and Sake in India, The Embassy of Japan has organised a Japanese Sake promotion event 'An Evening with Sake', on September 4, at 7:00 pm, at Ambassador's residence.

The Embassy has earlier organised other events including Sake Trade Tasting, November 2017, Japanese Food Promotion Event, March 2018, at the occasion of the visit of Miyakoshi, Special Advisor to Prime Minister of Japan, An Evening with Japanese Food, February 2019 and much more.

This year, with the cooperation of the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association, nine Sake breweries and 'Miss SAKE', Sanae Haruta from Japan have been invited for the Sake promotion event, targeting Indian hotel buyers and importers.

Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur will be the chief guest at the occasion.

'An Evening with Sake 2019' will be divided into two parts – Part I will be Japanese Sake lecture and media interaction, from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm and Part II will comprise of Japanese Sake event, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Sake has played a central role in Japanese life and culture for the past 2,000 years, while the knowledge and techniques involved in sake brewing spread to every corner of the country. In fact, sake is such an integral part of the Japanese diet that, having some knowledge of it can add to one's understanding of Japanese history, culture, and society.
