Ajanta Shoes felicitates Sourav Ganguly as new BCCI president
Ajanta Shoes felicitated its brand ambassador Sourav Ganguly as new BCCI president at the Lalit Great Eastern recently. Titled 'The Turning Point', event was filled with activities including a panel discussion on Ganguly in which former cricketers like Snehashish Ganguly, Ashok Malhotra, Sambaran Banerjee and Deep Dasgupta shared their views on the difference made to Indian cricket by Ganguly as the captain. Among the present generation of cricketers, Manoj Tiwari was one of the panelists. The cricketers also shared their personal experiences about playing with Ganguly, and expressed high hopes that as the BCCI president he will bring about long awaited changes in Indian cricket.
The Managing Director of Ajanta Shoes, Sagnik Banik said: "Sourav is an inspiration for all of us. The changes he brought about in cricket in India immensely influence us as a company and as a brand. We are about to start rainwater harvesting in our plants, and make our plants solar energy enabled as well."

The programme was inaugurated by Dona Ganguly and Subrata Banik, the Chairman of the Ajanta Group. Arpita Banik, Director of Ajanta Footcare, who felicitated actress Rituparna Sengupta, Dona Ganguly and anchor Sudipa Chatterjee who were also present at the show, said: "As a company with modern outlook, we believe in contributing to the larger picture always, and felicitating an icon like Sourav Ganguly in many ways has to do with that belief of ours."
Ajanta also took the opportunity to launch its new television commercials with Ganguly, of which one on its sports brand, Impakto is already running very successfully digitally. The programme also featured a dazzling fashion show showcasing the new male and female ranges for sports, ethnic and formal categories of Ajanta Shoes.
