After IGNOU, KVIC bags order from IIIT

Here is some good news from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). After bagging order of different varieties of Khadi Silk's robe with Angawastram from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) in March this year, the KVIC has bagged fresh order from Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad for supply of 543 Khadi jackets and 450 Angavastram.

KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said that aimed to be used during the upcoming convocation ceremony of IIIT, the order gives a wide message. "This order can be trendsetter for other educational institutions as Khadi carries a unique Indianness. This order contains blue denim khadi jacket, green printed khadi jacket and lemon yellow printed khadi jacket. I am very much sure that in the long-run, the jackets and the Angavastram – made by our artisans with their 'golden hands' will be a unique model for the convocation attire for all the noted academic institutions," he said.

It may be noted that this order from IIIT is worth over Rs 7 lakh and KVIC has been asked to supply over nearly 1000 Khadi Jackets and Angawastram.
