Afghanistan's 100th Independence day: Festivities begin

CD Foundation organised a Coffee Morning with Embassy of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan Charge D'affaires Tahir Qadiry, where he announced 15-day long Afghanistan Food and Culture Festival in collaboration with CD Foundation. The food festival will be held during October in New Delhi, on the occasion of 100th Independence Anniversary of Afghanistan.

This is an initiative taken by CD Foundation to further strengthen India-Afghanistan friendship. Food and Culture Festival is one out of total eight events which will take place during 100th Independence Anniversary celebration of Afghanistan. Live Afghani Band performance, Ghazal performance, Cricket match and many more events will be held.

On the occasion, Founder Director of CD Foundation Charu Das was felicitated by Tahir Qadiry from Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Dr Sandeep Marwah, Chairman of AAFT and President of Marwah Studio, who was also present at the venue, extended his support to the festival.

Besides the food stalls and live kitchen display of Afghanistan cuisines, handicraft and textile exhibition, fashion shows, cultural performance by popular Indian artists, conferences, workshops, media interaction and meets will attract visitors.

Also, a filmmakers meet – where renowned film makers from Afghanistan and India will come together – will be held.
