A festival of arts and dance

Entering into its 25th year, SUNAINA – Society for the Upliftment of National Arts of India is all set to host the 11th edition of India's most popular festival of art and dance – 'Indradhanush Dilli 2019 –A festival of Arts' from November 7 – 12 2019, at multi venues in the Capital.

Started in 2008 a brain child of its president Guru Kanaka Sudhakar, a senior Bharatanatyam artist herself, Indradhanush Dilli a 100 hour and 6-day long festival has much to offer to the art loving public in the sense that one can view three generations of artists - talented children in tough competitions in 18 Art forms, youth professional choreographers churning out innovative choreographies in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi and Contemporary Ballet and celebrated artists Geeta Chandran and Bharati Shivaji bring out mersmersing performances.

The festival will start off with a seminar 'Facets of art' on the first day by the senior research scholarship holders of Sahitya Kala Parishad New Delhi. Going by the tradition of the festival, Geetanjal Lal, Santosh Nair, Seetha Nagajothy and Dr T V Manikandan will be awarded with the prestigious 'Guru Samman award' for their invaluable contribution to Kathak, Chau, Kuchipudi and Carnatic Music respectively. Besides, Paras Mani Award will be given to Dr Alpana Nayak for her remarkable training to disabled children in Odissi. The Kala Dhwani on the last day will showcase child prodigies dancing, followed by prize distribution.
