A Bene Placito: Classical music charms audience

Kolkata Youth Ensemble celebrated their annual mega concert 'A Bene Placito 2019' to bind people together with the power of music at Madhusudan Manch recently. It presented rare gems of classical music that connect beyond boundaries, making the world more harmonious.

In the first part, city witnessed a perfect harmonisation of choir and strings followed by a perfect handshaking amongst Violins, Sitar, Mohan Veena, Tabla Dholak, Percussion, Cello, Double Bass that created a dulcet resonance.

The second half of the concert was a tribute to the confluent correlation of Indian classical music and film music. The second part was pivoted on three most popular and soulful Ragas like Yaman, Khamaj, Ragesree to showcase a strong influence of Indian classical music on film songs.

The grand orchestral recital was graced by the august presence of some of the greatest artists of the city like Kalyan Sen Barat, Durbadal Chattopadhyay, Ramkrishna Paul, Surajit Chatterjee and Pandit Debojyoti Bose, to name a few. It was conducted by the man behind this initiative – Amitava Ghosh.
