21 Pally celebrates Prosenjit's birthday

21 Pally Sarbojananin Durgotsab Samiti, Ballygunge, celebrated 'Parar Chele' superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee aka Bumba da's birthday at Hotel Hindusthan International with great fanfare and pomp.

'Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar' – Bengali song gave Prosenjit Chatterjee the status of an iconic romantic hero and made him the undisputed king of Tollywood romance.

"We took this initiative to convey our heartfelt thanks to Bumba Da for entertaining us for decades," said Suresh Sethiya, President, 21 Pally Durgotsab Samiti.

"Bumba Da's contribution to the Bengali film industry is immense. Millions of fans look up to him and eagerly wait for his films. We wish him the very best," said Anurag Chirimar, Vice-President, 21 Pally Durgotsab Samiti.

Well-wishers sang 'Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar' for the actor, wishing him a long and prosperous life.

Different known television and silver screen personalities along with eminent members of the film fraternity from Tollywood joined in to celebrate. DJ Akash belted out remixes of 'Chirodini Tumi Je Aamar' and other songs of the famous actor.

Aman Sethia (Moksha Band) rendered Amar Songee, while 'Sonu Dance Troupe' performed a medley of love songs made popular by the star.

Hotel Hindusthan International prepared all the favorite foods which are Prosenjit's favourite.

The high point of the Birthday bash was a special and surprise present – a life-sized statue of Bumba Da. This statue would be put up at the 21 Pally Para with his consent.

Pandal hoppers can click their pictures with their icon or ;Moner Manush; during the Durga Puja time at 21 Pally.

Prosenjit, who has acted in the film Gumnaami as Subhas Chandra Bose, had recently participated in 21 Pally's Kuthi Puja with the film's Director and Crew.
