FC Goa sign R Dumas, Goncalves, Richarlyson

FC Goa has announced the signing of three new Brazilian players Defender Rafael Dumas and midfielders Richarlyson and Trindade Goncalves for the third edition of the Indian Super League.

21-year-old defender Dumas has been loaned from Brazilian side Flamengo, where he plays as a center half. Speed is his forte and he uses this to his advantage to chase and close down attackers.

Having played in the junior side of the famed Brazilian team and helping the team win the Junior Campeonato Carioca in 2015, Dumas was promoted to the senior team, where he has made one appearance so far.

Impressed by his performances in the junior league, FC Goa coach Zico has given him the opportunity to join the Indian franchise to showcase his skills.

Alongside veterans like Gregory Arnolin, World Cup winner Lucio and Luciano Sobrosa, the youngster will hope to leave his mark in the tournament.

Goncalves has also played a number of junior tournaments in Brazil. The 20-year-old played in the Copa Sao Paulo de Futbol Junior against rivals Corinthians and scored a goal and also converted a penalty in the shootout to win the contest.

A defensive midfielder by trade, Goncalves is adept at shielding the defensive from attacks using his speed and technique. Richarlyson is the most decorated of the three players. Having represented the national team on two occasions, he has also won numerous domestic titles including the Brazilian league in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
