Fake voter cards: Sisodia orders action against three officials

“The action against these officials have been ordered, after they were found guilty in an inquiry conducted by the Delhi Election Commission,” said a Delhi government spokesperson. The spokesperson said the  officials were identified as Satpal, Lower Division Clerk, and two AERO rank officers – Manvinder Singh and Ajay Rawat.

According to the Delhi government, Rawat was ad hoc DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service) officer at the time of the incident. The officials were found involved in a case during the Delhi Assembly polls.

About 1,250 voter identity cards were found abandoned near Radisson Blu Hotel in Dwarka Sector 13 a few days before the polls. The DEC investigation revealed that these officers were found prima facie guilty of misusing their signatures and stamp.

Subsequently, an FIR was lodged against Satpal. During the course of investigation, it was found that the other two officers were also involved in making fake voter identity cards of thousands of people to affect the poll results.

The election commission had to order identification and elimination of bogus voter identity cards to ensure fair results in the national Capital, subsequently thousands of fake voters were omitted from the list.
