Exhibition held at Park Street Metro station

Metro Railway Women’s Welfare Organisation (MRWWO) organised a unique “Art & Sculpture” exhibition, the first of its kind, at Park Street Metro Station on Thursday.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Amita Chauhan, President, MRWWO. Paintings & Sculptures of 55 eminent artists have been displayed in a gallery in the Up platform (Mayo Road side) of Park Street Metro station.

Wasim Kapoor, a renowned painter, drew a sketch on a canvas and a musical programme was staged for the commuters where Pandit Mallar Ghosh performed live. A Durga idol of the Ahiritola Sarbojanin Durga Puja Samity which has been preserved as a work of art at Park Street Metro station was opened for public viewing. Purnendu Dey, the artist of the idol was present in the function.

Debasis Mallick Chowdhury renowned painter was also present along at the inauguration.
