"Even Kejriwal has supported the surgical strike"

Veteran actor and politician Hema Malini spoke on various issues that have currently gripped the nation but also refrained from commenting on the sensitive ones when she was present in the national Capital for a new TVC campaign of KENT RO for which she is also the brand ambassador.

On being asked about the ban on the Pakistani actors, a reluctant Hema Malini, who wished to stay away from the controversy said, "As an artist, I appreciate their work but I don't want to comment about whether they should live here or leave this country. Artists are artists whether they are from Pakistan or India. But it is unfortunate that they are from Pakistan. I must say that they are good artists. They have performed well here in India."

The ban on Pakistani actors has created quite a stir in the industry. A lot of Bollywood actors have commented for and against the ban and the undue involvement of Shiv Sena has made the matter worse. Unfortunately, art has fallen prey to the political differences that the two countries have. Hema Malini also feels that the surgical strike which was carried out by the Indian army was a very good action and she lauded Prime Minister Modi's decision to carry out this operation in such a short time as terrorism needs to be fought just the way the Indian army has done. "It is very unfortunate that terror activities are unfurling at such a great speed, a lot of innocents are getting killed on a daily basis. This is really sad," expressed the Sholay actor.

"Even Kejriwal has supported the surgical strike but I am not aware whether he has asked for the proofs of the operation that was conducted," said the actor when she was asked to speak on Kejriwal's comment on the surgical strike. On being asked to comment on fellow actor Om Puri's insensitive comment on the Army Jawans, she said, "I am not really aware of his statements and I don't know him too well personally to say why he made a comment like that".

She further expressed her concern for the Army jawans who have lost their lives for the nation and also for their families.
