ESIC recruits 135 sportspersons

Minister of State (Independent Charge) Bandaru Dattatreya for Labour & Employment handed over the ‘Offer of Appointment’ to  meritorious sportspersons recruited by ESIC under various sports on Thursday. MoS (I/C) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Rajiv Pratap Rudy, MoS (I/C) for for Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Vijay Goel were also present at the event at Constitution Club of India in national Capital.

Meenakashi Lekhi, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Manoj Kumar Tiwari, MP were also present. M. Sathiyavathy, Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment also attended the function.

Bandaru Dattateya  congratulated the ESI Corporation for taking the spirit of sports in the right direction by recruiting 135 talented sportspersons. Vijay Goel informed that gathering that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given directions to encourage the sport culture in the country.  Lauding the efforts of ESIC, Goel said that he will write to other ministries also to fill up the posts under sports quota, taking a cue from the Ministry of Labour  & Employment. Rajiv Pratap Rudy congratulated the Director General, ESIC for getting the recruitment of meritorious sportspersons completed and informed that Deepak Kumar, DG, ESIC is also a talented sportsperson.

The Employees’ State Insurance Corporation is dedicated to serve the workforce of India with health and insurance for a secured future.  As per directions of Government of India, job opportunities are provided to meritorious sportspersons by way of 5% reservation in recruitment in various group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts.  Such meritorious sportspersons bring a healthy work environment and also create a brand image of the organization by representing it, in various national and international tournaments. 

In line of this progressive initiative of the Centre, the ESI Corporation too has just finalized recruitment of 135 talented sportspersons of different games from all across India for group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts and thus, has extended its message of well being through goodness of health.   The recruitment of the meritorious sportspersons will secure their future, thus ensuring the sportspersons to excel in their respective games and bring laurels to the country.  These recruitment have been finalised as per the extant rules& regulations of DOPT and ESIC.
