EPFO settles 11.77 lakh claims in April

Retirement fund body EPFO settled 11.77 lakh claims like PF withdrawals in April, of which 77 <g data-gr-id="36">per cent</g> were disposed of within 10 days. “11.77 lakh claims were settled in the month of April ... 48 per cent of the claims were settled within 3 days and 77 per cent were settled within 10 days,” an EPFO statement said.

More than 15 crore annual (PF) accounts were updated in the first two working days of the financial year which is a historical first and this was made possible by the adoption of new updated software by the EPFO. Grievance redressal was continued to be given top priority and more than 14,000 grievances were settled in April leaving a balance of 3,354 pending. Out of pending grievances, more than three-fourths were pending for less than 15 days. Also, as grievance monitoring is being done at the highest level in the government under PRAGATI programme, comprehensive guidelines were also issued to further minimise the number of pending grievances.
