'Want to explore multiple platforms'

The 25-year-old actor who made her Bollywood debut with Karwaan describes it as an ‘amazing’ experience

Mithila Palkar, who rose to fame through Youtube and TED-Talks, recently made her Bollywood debut.

In her very first film, Palkar got the opportunity to work alongside Irrfan Khan – one of the A-listers of Bollywood. The 25-year-old actor describes the experience of working in the film as 'amazing'.

"Initially, I thought that Irrfan – being a senior actor – will be rude or hard to work with. But on the contrary, he was the most comfortable company I ever got on the sets", she revealed.

"Though it took a while to settle the gap between me and Irrfan sir, it wasn't as daunting as I thought it to be," said Palkar, adding, "Only if one could spend time with him, they would know how amazing and enriching he is. For me, it felt like a dream come true."

Directed by Akarsh Khurana, the film also stars Dulquer in the lead role.

Mithila always wanted to become an actor and face the audience on-stage. Despite all the discouragement and fewer opportunities, she was firm and adamant that all she wanted to do in her life was acting. Therefore, she was just waiting for the clock to strike the right time for her.

Talking about her first reaction when she was offered Karwaan, the actor revealed, "You won't believe it. I was happy that I was actually auditioning for the role. But it took so long for them to select me…for two months I was hanging in the air..thinking that it won't work out..but finally, it did."

Starting her career from web series and ultimately landing up in films, Mithila is very clear about exploring all the platforms as she doesn't want to confine herself to a single type of work. She wants to grab all the opportunities that come her way.

Comparing herself to the character she plays in the very famous series, 'Girl in the city', Mithila says that they both are struggling in their respective careers.

"Meera comes from a small town and wants to make her name in Mumbai, whereas I spent my life in this city," she said.

On the work front, the actor is looking forward to the second season of 'Little things', which she promises will be even more exciting.
