'Sylvia is an extremely vulnerable character'

Ekta Kapoor's 'The Verdict – State vs Nanavati' has captured the audience with its thrill quotient. Elli AvrRam, who is playing the role of Sylvia Nanavati, opens up about her experience of getting into the skin of the character.

The courtroom drama set in the period 1959 is based on the real life story in which a Naval commander named Kawas Manekshaw Nanvati was accused of killing Prem Abuja, who was involved with his wife Sylvia. The recently released trailer showcases Elli AvrRam in a retro look lot of pain and vulnerability.

Talking about the show and Ekta Kapoor AvrRam says that she can't thank Ekta enough for giving her an opportunity to play a layered and complex character. "I am grateful to Producer Ekta and Director, Shashant Shah for believing in me and giving me this opportunity."

"Sylvia is a very vulnerable character, and it's for the first time that I've got a chance to portray all kinds of emotions, including those of a mother and a wife – something that I am not in real life. The journey of discovering my character and imagining what real Sylvia must have gone through at that time excited me as an artiste. I hope everyone will enjoy seeing the Nanavati story being told in a different way," she added.
